Nowadays, there are tons of zombie games for PC, and to be honest, it's really hard to find a good game. Zombies are kind of cliche, with the thematics being sometimes overused. 1. Dying Light
Our zombie games are addictive and fun to play for all gamers. If you like action, strategy, or puzzles, we have an adventure for you. Play a game of survival and attempt to outlast a virus epidemic. Or, take control and slay every walker in sight in one of our many revenge-based undead challenges. We have many ghostly variations, including. Flash is no longer available internet-wide. Here, those who lived through Conflagration were left to survive against hunger, aberrations, fanatical mutants and zombies.
What's more badass than an open-world game featuring zombies? Oh, I guess nothing! Dying Light was released in 2015 and it's easily the best zombie game for me. Dying Light will teach you how brutal zombies really are, as it's a serious game, following a story of our protagonist Kyle Crane. This isn't just another zombie slasher, but a game that has its own compelling story, amazing character, and beautiful visuals. Furthermore, the world in this game is amazing and allows for parkouring, as well as using vehicles to traverse the cities and areas. The night is the most dangerous, being a time when the zombies are most aggressive. You can play alone or call your friend to join you in a co-op adventure.
2. Left 4 Dead 2
Left 4 Dead 2 isn't the newest game, but hey, Valve did a pretty good job of making this game popular and up-to-par with the modern giants. Basically, it's a multiplayer game that focuses on co-op play where you'll fight against the hordes of zombies with your buddies. This simplistic style of gameplay works wonders and offers a lot of fun, especially when you form a group of four players and go on a killing spree. Whatever you decide, Left 4 Dead 2 will ALWAYS be a challenging and unique experience, which grants fun and replayability value.
3. DayZ
DayZ is a game which is still in an early access phase, but that doesn't mean it's bad. When you put aside some performance issues, occasional glitches, and poor optimization, DayZ has much to offer. Basically, this game is an open-world survival game in which you fight, craft, search for loot in order to survive another day. It's a pretty smart game in a way that you can't just go guns blazing or rushing, but think one step in advance to be able to survive. It's a multiplayer game, so get some friends and have fun.
4. Dead Rising 4
Dead Rising series is almost unmatched when it comes to zombies. While Dead Rising 3 was a bit hit and miss, Dead Rising 4 manages to bring back some great memories. Feature-wise, nothing has changed significantly, and the developers worked more on the game's optimization and fluidity. This means that you can now play Dead Rising 4 at higher framerates and enjoy only the pure quality of this zombie game. It's a stereotypical zombie game where you fight against the hordes of zombies, but hey… it's fun, and that's great!
5. Call of Duty: Black Ops
Not only that Call of Duty: Black Ops is one of the best games in Call of Duty franchise, but it actually has a quite cool zombie mode. If you decide to play the singleplayer campaign first (which I STRONGLY suggest), you'll be greeted with a compelling and immersive experience. The multiplayer here is also great, but zombies are amazing. You can now play with your friends and defend your shelter against hordes of zombies. Usually, you are in a house where the zombies are breaking through, so you can either rely on your weaponry or patch the broken windows and doors. It's deadly simple, yet very precise in its execution.
6. Zombie Army Trilogy
Zombie Army Trilogy is a complete pack of three great zombie games for PC. So, wait, you can get three games at a price of single? Yes! It's a cult horror game that gives you some guns to shoot Nazi zombies and send them back from where they came from. This is a third-person shooter which features a lot of intense and heart-pounding action, leaving you with a very sweet taste in your mouth. You can play it alone, but I suggest playing it co-op and celebrate some great zombie killing.
7. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Nowadays, horror games aren't that big deal, it seems. I mean, there are tons of horror games out there, but they are either walking simulators or just too boring to be the real HORROR. But, let me tell you about Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. This game will scare the shit out of you, with its setting, gameplay and nice visuals and sound design. It's all about impending doom here, and although the game doesn't really give you that much jumpscares, it manages to be spooky only with the environment alone. It's very claustrophobic and intense experience which will get your heart pounding like never before!
8. State of Decay 2
State of Decay 2 is a nice upcoming game, which of course, features some zombies! As its name says, in State of Decay 2, everything is gone to shit, and your task is to survive after all these months of zombie outbreaks. As with every zombie game, you'll gather a few survivors and scavenge for food and material in order to maybe live another day. Furthermore, State of Decay 2 isn't a boring point-and-click game but features a real third-person action and some heart-pounding moments. All in all, a nice zombie game.
9. H1Z1
Battle royale genre is exploding these days, especially because of the games like Fortnite and PUBG. However, we have one relatively forgotten game here, and it's no other than H1Z1. H1Z1 is a game about survival in a harsh open world against the other players. As you can probably guess, there isn't a singleplayer component, so you are only left with a very good multiplayer component as you search for the means to survive. Once you are parachuted into the game, it's all up to you; will you live up to your expectations? Find out in H1Z1.
10. Killing Floor 2
Killing Floor 2 is a superior zombie game that once again pushes the limits of this genre. While zombie games aren't a distinctive genre, those games are awesome, especially this one. To put it simply, Killing Floor 2 is a satisfying zombie shooter that's all about that multiplayer carnage and online matches. You can use various weapons to dispatch your enemies, but also the other players, as the game offers Versus Survival Mode, where even YOU can become a zombie! Jump in and let your zombie killing talent shine!
11. Dead Island: Riptide
We begin the second half of our list with the great Dead Island game. Many say that this game is boring, uninspired and half-ass, but don't listen to the naysayers. If you are a true zombie fan, Dead Island: Riptide should be pretty good for you. A huge open world, lots of melee combat and colorful environment are something you can expect from the game. Furthermore, Dead Island offers a co-op mode, so you can now smash some zombie heads with your friends. Bring it on, brothers!
12. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
Even as a kid, you've probably heard about scary zombie stories, but wait 'till you see how scary the plants are! Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is here to tell you how those annoying zombies can be obliterated by the plants. This cartoonish-looking game is not to be overlooked. It lets you participate in some epic battles between plants and zombies, and defend your territory from the monsters. You can use many weapons and tactics at your disposal, granting a certain amount of freedom in the game. Remember; in war, there is no law!
13. Dead Space 3
Dead Space 3 is the finest example of survival horror game. I'm very sorry that Visceral Games are closed, but I'm very glad that they left us with the greatest horror franchise. Dead Space 3 is the latest game in the series, and this one brings it to a complete maximum. The third-person shooting wasn't this immersive and intense… well, for quite some time. It relies on jaw-dropping action moments, putting aside the horror elements, although they are still prominent. Nevertheless, Dead Space 3 should be enough satisfaction for your horror senses.
14. 7 Days to Die
Another early access game is 7 Days to Die. From the previous experience, you might think that the game is in a pretty bad state, but that's where you're wrong. 7 Days to Die kicks you straight into the open world where civilization met its demise. The post-apocalyptic setting, great first-person shooting, role-playing elements and some tower defense here and there is what should be expected from this game. Enjoy a great melee and arms combat with your friends and be sure to kill every living zombie being on the planet.
15. Return to Castle Wolfenstein
If you don't remember this game, then you probably weren't born at the time. Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a legendary WW2 game that puts you in a role of B.J Blazkowicz, as you try to push back the German resistance and win the goddamn war! However, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is an excellent zombie game, introducing some mind-boggling zombie levels that will drive the fear directly in your bones. It's a pretty old game, but that doesn't mean it's bad! In fact, Return to Castle Wolfenstein features an amazing multiplayer that's been played for quite some time.
16. How to Survive 2
How to Survive 2 is a game about… well, surviving! But, this game isn't about pure survival as it features a lot of zombie killing and resource management. The game is set in Louisiana and lets you play either with your friends or go solo, which is a balls-to-the-wall method. How to Survive 2 is very fun when played with friends, so you can much easier craft shelter, weaponry, tools and gather water and shelter. The zombies are pretty hungry here and staying in one piece is your best bet!
17. Zombie Shooter
Do you remember that fantastic Alien Shooter game? That's still an awesome alien game, but we are going to take a look at the Zombie Shooter. So, what we can expect from this clone? Well, the same top-down camera and almost the same gameplay concept. You travel through the various section of the levels, killing and destroying every single zombie that you encounter. Is it simple enough for you? Keep the answer for yourself, and try this immersive game.
18. Unturned
If you've made near the end of our list, I'm going to reward you with this free PC game. Its name is Unturned and yeah, thank me later! Due to its cartoonish graphics, Unturned may be a great PC game for kids, but the adults can play it too. Simply, this game is about team play and working with your friends in order to stay alive. Should you decide to go alone and be a hero, you'll probably suffer the consequences. It's unforgiving, yet highly rewarding experience.
19. The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead is a game for the fans of the series. If you've watched the series, then you know what to expect from it. A very emotional story, jaw-dropping voice acting, and some amazing storytelling. However, this isn't an action game, since it belongs to Telltale Games, which is known to produce some of the best point-and-click games. Here, the focus is on story and characters, and that's is exactly what we need from this type of game.
20. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Back in 1989, a massive explosion of a nuclear power plant happened near Pripyat, wiping almost every sign of life in that area. Well, if you've heard about this disaster, you may want to check S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. This game is made by a Ukrainian team GSC Game World and who can better make such game than Ukrainians themselves? It's an open-world role-playing game and its atmosphere is one of the best I've ever seen in the game. It will suck you in the moment you start playing and won't let you even after you finish it; it's that great!
